Windsurf's IDE, renamed Devin Desktop by Cognition in June 2026, now an agent command center with a full editor.
What it does
Windsurf was rebranded as Devin Desktop on June 2, 2026, after Cognition folded it into the Devin product family (windsurf.com now redirects to devin.ai/desktop). It is the same VS Code–based IDE with existing Windsurf settings, extensions and rules carried over, but the default view is now the Agent Command Center for managing local and cloud Devin agents in one Kanban board. The Cascade agent was retired on July 1, 2026 and replaced by Devin Local, a rewritten local agent with subagent support.
